Berlin Bosphorus Initiative has organized two ad hoc meetings one in Berlin presided by BBI Advisory Board Co President Michael Schward with members of the German side in 05th of April, and another one in Istanbul presided by BBI Advisory Board Co President Cansen Başaran Symes with the participation of members from the Turkish side in 06th of April. During the meetings, the members assessed the state of play of Turkish – German bilateral relations, identify priority areas for the Initiative and give feedback on the critical role of BBI and its upcoming program for strengthening of bilateral relations. They underlined that setting political tensions aside, the Initiative should focus on enhancing civil society dialogue and strengthening economic cooperation.
Berlin Bosphorus Initiative (BBI) aims to bring the existing exchange, knowledge and cooperation between our countries in the fields of economy, society and politics to a new and innovative level. BBI endeavours to fill an important gap in German and Turkish public opinion and overcome recent setbacks by establishing a sustainable network of competent partners on both sides.
